Dustin
Mike got his first drum kit when he was 10 years old as a Christmaspresent. He became so passionate about it in just one week he beganplaying in church. He went on to play in a gospel group with his Dadwhen he was about 12 and from there he had the chance to play professionally on the road with great acts like “The Crabb family”, “Jason Crabb”, “The Anchormen”, and “The McKameys”. Mike putseverything he has into playing the drums, and Mike says “ I feel withall my heart that my drumming is a Gift from God, and I love usingmy talents to lift him up, Because he has made me who I am today.
Dustin remembers getting his first guitar at 12 years old. Afterseveral years of “tuning his musical ear” and grinding out fingerexercises he felt he could express his heart to the fullest throughguitar. Dustin creates most of the arrangements for the songs andtries to make each song unique and give it a “personality” so thatnot only the words but the music also “moves” people. Dustin hasdedicated his life to pursuing his dream and passion of being afull-time musician and he makes sure to put his heart and soul into everything he plays.
Jake has been playing bass for over 12 years. He played in severalbands from the time he was 15, until he moved from Georgia to Tennessee in 2010. He had only been in Tennessee a few monthswhen he received a call from Rev. Matthew-E about joining the band.“I had just been in a terrible car accident, and told God I wanted tocompletely devote my life to him when I received that phone call”Jake said, “and I had never felt in all my life that I was meant to dosomething so strongly like I have to play in this band, and ever since that phone call I have made this ministry my passion”.
Dean picked up his first guitar around the age of 13, there was noone around to teach him, and at the time he had no internet to look up online lessons, but he didn’t let that stop him. He was sodetermined to play as good and fast as possible that he would usefinger weights to help speed up his fingers. Soon after practicingday in and day out Dean realized that guitar was his passion. He said he would lose himself for hours playing, It was like when heplayed guitar he was in a whole other world. Guitar truly becameDeans first true love and he loves being able to express that on stage.
Matthew is the founder of the band, songwriter and band leader. He is a minister who has a huge passion in youth ministry, he feels that is his calling in life. He started singingaround the age of 2yrs old and has never stopped. He startedwriting little songs at age 5 but really became passionate aboutit at 13. Growing up in a strong Christian home he always knewhe wanted to devote his life to serving God and telling peoplethat nomatter how hopeless life may seem that God has a planand purpose for your life and that God’s love is never-ending.
