SAINT-DA-FIED was started in August 2005 about five years ago, a good friend of Rev.Matthew-E's wanted the Rev. to help start a band, a nice R&B Christian group , the good friend had know experience in starting a band or ever had been in a band,just a good idea. So Matthew-E started writing and his friend pitched in, right away the two had three to four songs down, The two got into a small project studio and started recording the songs, Rev.Matthew-E was the lead vocalist and played all the instruments his friend Rapped all this time the group of two had no name.
Matthew knew the group needed a name so he prayed and prayed about the name of the group, and then it hit him
SAINT-DA-FIED, he told his friend and the friend loved the name of the new group, finaly got the demo done now what? the friend told Matthew that the biggest Christian Rapper of our time, was his cusin, so he set up a meeting with "Toby Mac" from "DC-Talk" and Toby meet with the two and heard the demo, then he looked and Matthew and said SAINT-DA-FIED , I like that name, but it is not a Christian R&B group, This is a Christian Rock Band name, Toby told the two to go home and start a Christian Rock band called SAINT-DA-FIED.
Rev.Matthew-E goes home telling everyone what Toby Mac said, then he called every musician friend that he knew
to try to get this Christian Rock band up and running, Matthew got a hold of some musicians and started writing Christian Rock music not forgetting his friend, they tryed to make a Christian Rock Christian Rap thing, that did not pan out at all, so after and while Matthew's friend said he felt like God was calling him to do other things, and he left the band.
The band went on Matthew felt alone, but he kept going, band member after band member left, Ministry is hard thing to do, and getting no money , going from place to place church to church , So Matthew took it own him self to buy everything that the band would need to keep going, and God blessed the band with a 15 passager Van that was given to them, so member after member would leave the band, God would just send someone in their place every time.
SAINT-DA-FIED has seen over 260 people and counting, give their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ, the band signed with a indie record label about a year ago, they are being played on 50 or 60 radio stations across the US and over seas, God is a great God, and there is know telling what he will do, with this band called SAINT-DA-FIED
